Archaic jade ewer from the Song dynasty period, China. Its elegant body is covered with small spots (guwen), which resemble grains of rice and decorated with dragons in the front and around the neck. The handle is circular and also shows traces of calcification on the top, just like the tip of the ewer’s mouth. In good condition.
